The Project Scoping Session for interior design projects in Cheltenham & the Cotswolds
The Project Scoping Session
An structured interior design consultation for homeowners in Cheltenham and the Cotswolds who want to start their project properly.
From £850 + VAT
We know. You want to talk about colours, furniture and how the kitchen’s going to look.
This isn’t that session. But it’s the one that makes everything else (including that conversation) considerably more worthwhile.
Most home projects don’t fail at the design stage. They fail much earlier, when nobody properly defined what the project actually was.
The scope wasn’t clear. The budget wasn’t tested against reality. Decisions started being made before the right questions had been asked. And by the time an architect or builder is involved, everyone is working from assumptions rather than a brief.
It’s not that people don’t care about getting it right. It’s that there’s no obvious place in the process where this thinking is supposed to happen. Architects focus on structure and planning. Builders focus on delivery. The question of how the house will actually work once you’re living in it often falls between the two.
It’s a pattern we see regularly in renovation and furnishing projects across Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.
This session exists to close that gap.
What this session covers
In a focused interior design consultation, we look at your home, your early ideas, and how you want the space to function, not how it will look.
Within a week of the session, you’ll receive a written strategy report covering:
Scope and direction. A clear, realistic brief for what you’re trying to achieve, including how far the project should go and where the boundaries are.
Sequence. The order decisions need to be made in, and which ones will have the biggest knock-on effect if they’re handled too late or in the wrong order.
Budget reality. A broad cost framework to sense-check your expectations against what’s actually involved.
Technical needs. Whether architectural or structural input is required, and at what point.
Common pitfalls. The early-stage mistakes we see repeatedly, and how to avoid them in your project.

What this is not
This is not a design session. We won’t be selecting colours, materials or furniture. That work belongs in the design process itself, once the foundations of the project are properly defined.
Think of it as the difference between choosing a route and choosing what to wear on the journey. This session is about the route.
After the session
If you choose to move forward after the session, we begin Step 1: Foundation, the first stage of our full interior design process. That’s where we translate your brief into a clear design direction, including your preferences for colour, materials and overall feel.
Because the strategic groundwork has already been done, that process is sharper, faster and more focused from day one.
The session fee is credited in full against your design fee if you proceed, so there’s no financial penalty for starting here.
Most clients who complete a Project Scoping Session go on to work with us on the full project. Not because they’re locked in, but because by that point the path forward is clear.
Investment
From £850 + VAT, depending on the scope of the session and any travel involved.
The fee is confirmed in advance once we understand what you’d like to cover.
The next step
Tell us about your home in Cheltenham, the Cotswolds or the surrounding area, where you are in the process, and what you’re hoping to achieve. We’ll come back to you within one working day and, if it sounds like something we can help with, suggest a time to talk it through.
