Luxury Home Renovations and Interior Design in Cheltenham and The Cotswolds
Why Interior Design Leads the Process – not Follows it
Great interior design isn’t an afterthought, it’s where a well-planned home begins. At The House Ministry, a luxury interior design studio, we work closely with you from day one, ensuring every detail is considered before any site work or construction starts, so your home not only looks exceptional but enhances how you live, both practically and emotionally.
Our six-step design process brings structure to creativity, from the start; helping you make confident decisions and avoid costly detours later on.
Elegant Homes, Expertly Delivered – However Complex the Project
We offer a complete interior design and renovation service; whether you’re reconfiguring the entire home or focusing on a few key rooms. From initial layouts to final styling, you’ll be guided through every stage of your journey, so you can enjoy the transformation without managing the day-to-day. If you are looking for an interior designer in the Cotwolds, our structured approach ensures each stage feels creative yet logical and intuitive. Some of our clients choose to work with us in phases.

Design Blueprint vs Design Blueprint Premium
Design Blueprint (2D) : Our full interior design pathway delivered through scaled 2D layouts, palettes, material samples and specification packs.
Design Blueprint Premium (3D) : Everything in the 2D Blueprint with the addition of immersive 3D visuals to help you picture and sign off the proposed spaces before orders are placed.
The choice between 2D and 3D is a matter of preference rather than quality. Both lead to the same installed outcome.
Both tiers include procurement, trade coordination, installation and styling; the difference lies entirely in how the design is presented.
Renovation Collaboration Service
Interior Design Support for Builder & Architect-Led Projects
This service supports homeowners undertaking renovations that involve an architect, builder or structural work.
We join the project early to develop the interior direction and coordinate decisions such as layouts, finishes, joinery and lighting, so that the build team can execute to a clear brief.
This avoids rushed selections during construction and ensures the aesthetic and practical details are agreed before work begins.
We regularly collaborate with architects, planning consultants, builders and specialist joiners across Cheltenham and the wider Cotswolds.
What’s Included
- Interior layouts and spatial planning
- Joinery direction and technical interior input
- Material, hardware, finishes and sanitaryware selections
- Lighting and electrical recommendations
- Schedules and specifications for contractors
- Site visits during key build stages
- Interior furnishing and styling at completion
Design Blueprint vs Design Blueprint Premium
Design Blueprint (2D) : Plans, palettes, schedules and specification packs used by the architect and builder to deliver the interior design correctly.
Design Blueprint Premium (3D) : As above, with 3D visuals for clearer coordination and client decision-making.
The choice between 2D and 3D is a matter of preference rather than quality. Both lead to the same installed outcome.
Our role is to set the design direction, establish key interior decisions before construction, and protect the design intent throughout the build.
Early Design Review
A structured review to guide planning, layout and decision order before you renovate
Renovating or updating a home can feel straightforward at the start – until the questions begin.
- Would taking down a wall increase our enjoyment of the space?
- How will we use space day to day?
- When do lighting and electrical decisions need to be made?
- What does the builder need to know – and when?
- Why do so many decisions feel interconnected and how do we prioritise?
Many people assume this thinking will be handled by an architect or a builder. In reality, it often isn’t. Architects focus on planning and structure. Builders focus on delivery. That leaves a gap when it comes to how the house will actually work once you’re living in it.
The Early Design Review is designed for that moment.
It’s a focused session to help you step back, look at the bigger picture, and get clear on how to approach your project – before decisions start being made by default, or under pressure on site.
Rather than trying to cover everything, we look broadly at the house, then focus in on the areas and decisions that will have the biggest knock-on effect if they’re handled in the wrong order.
It’s about guidance, priorities, and understanding where people commonly go wrong, so you can learn to avoid typical mistakes and move forward with fewer surprises.
This is a pre-design solution, so there are no drawings, sourcing or styling.
The Early Design Review is useful for:
planning a renovation or reconfiguration
reviewing architectural plans from a day-to-day living perspective
understanding what needs deciding before building work starts
- avoiding the common pitfalls homeowners experience when renovating
how to think through lighting, electrics and layout early on
approaching furniture and finishes in the right order
sense-checking ideas before committing time and money
Investment
From £850 + VAT, depending on the scope of the review and travel involved.
The review can stand alone, or form the starting point for a fuller design project later on.
